The Environmental Science Hybrid Merit Badge includes an introductory Zoom meeting, online completion of specific merit badge requirements (including some at-home projects), and one day of in-person programming at Stroud Water Research Center.

Requirement 1.

Make a timeline of the history of environmental science in America.

Requirement 2.

Learn the definitions of some important environmental science terms.

Requirement 3.A.(3)

Discuss what is an ecosystem. Tell how it is maintained in nature and how it survives.

Requirement 3.B.(1)

Perform an experiment to test for particulates that contribute to air pollution.

Requirement 3.C.(3)

Describe the impact of a waterborne pollutant on an aquatic community.

Requirement 3.D.(1)

Conduct an experiment to illustrate soil erosion by water.

Requirement 3.E.(2)

Research one species that was endangered or threatened but that has now recovered.
