Course Information

The Fish and Wildlife Management Hybrid Merit Badge includes an introductory online meeting, online completion of specific merit badge requirements, and a one-day in-person program that includes a required fishery or wildlife habitat improvement project.

Diving In

Requirement 1.

Describe the meaning and purposes of fish and wildlife conservation and management.

Requirement 2.

List and discuss at least three major problems that continue to threaten your state’s fish and wildlife resources.

Requirement 3.

Describe at least three ways in which everyone can help with fish and wildlife conservation.

Requirement 4.

List and describe five major fish and wildlife management practices used by managers in your state.

Requirement 5c.

Develop and implement a fishery improvement project or a backyard wildlife habitat improvement project. Share the results with your counselor.

Requirement 6b.

List at least nine wildlife species in your state that are classified as endangered, threatened, exotic/non-native, game species, furbearers, or migratory game birds.

Requirement 8.

Learn about three different positions held by fisheries and/or wildlife professionals and the training requirements for each position.
